The Pitch - Dirty Little Secret

Synopsis
Our main focus of the story is around an out of work detective who finally finds a case he's interested in which involved the murder of a rich man but there are no main clues or leads on who would've done it. Whilst investigating the case, the detective (Phillip Meyers) meets a young seductive woman called Vivienne Waldorf who he becomes infatuated with, but does this lead him to the biggest mystery case he's ever solved, or will it lead him down to the depths of hell...

Narrative
During our pitch we wanted to give nothing away of the story line and keep it quite covered. As a group we decided to keep the flow of a Non-Lenear narrative to fit in with our Film Noir Sub Style. The opening sequence opens at around about the end of the film when Detective Phillip is being interrogated about murder cases (non specified to keep enigma in the opening sequence) and the focus of the film is in flash back, we want to show one flashback during the opening sequence - where he and Vivienne are in an apartment and then leads on to the fact where the fight over a gun). The end of the opening sequence would be that Vivienne walks into the interrogation room and accuses him of being a liar...this is where it ends, but if we were shooting the rest we would then go onto the beginning of the film to tell the story to the audience.

Presentation
The presentation we made a Power Point and put photos up of our costume/prop ideas and explained to the class what our main point of our opening sequence was about. People were left a little confused but as a group we didn't want to give much away. We told them about our main conventions we were walking towards to include within our opening sequence and also about different shots we were going to use.
